Aircraft manufacturing in Germany
At the start of WW II, aircraft manufacturing in Germany was done in job shops with highly skilled workers that required 3 or more years of study and another 3 years of practice to attain the skill set required.
The need to expand production with unskilled labor forced the Germans to install in-line manufacturing conveyor belt methods.
The tasks were broken down into simple activities where each worker only had to execute an easy repetitive task.
The excerpt shown in this post comes from a report by American Intelligence officers on German manufacturing methods at the end of the war (as published by Daniel Uziel)
